As a pet grooming service, our priority is a practical, comfortable outcome rather than a perfectly styled finish. In some cases, this may mean shorter clips or simplified grooming to keep the experience as low-stress as possible for your dog.

Our Products

We use professional-quality Smith & Burton and Hydra grooming products, chosen for their quality, performance and beautiful results.

Every pet is different, so products are selected to suit their individual skin and coat needs.

As the owner of a dog who has dealt with lifelong skin sensitivities, choosing gentle, high-quality products has always been incredibly important to me. I only use products I would happily use on my own pets.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size dogs do you groom?

1

Leila & Co grooms’ dogs up to approximately 25kg. This is due to the space available within our mobile grooming trailer and our commitment to ensuring grooming remains safe, comfortable and manageable for both your dog and us.

Do you handle anxious or reactive dogs?

2

Yes – we understand that not every dog feels comfortable with grooming, especially if they’ve had little exposure to grooming or difficult past experiences. We take a calm, patient approach and work at a pace that helps anxious dogs feel as safe and comfortable as possible.

For dogs who are fearful, overwhelmed, or reactive, our priority will always be safety and welfare over achieving a perfect finish. In some situations, we may recommend grooming under sedation within a veterinary clinic environment if we believe this is the safest and kindest option for your dog.

How often should my dog be groomed?

3

This depends on their breed, coat type, lifestyle and how quickly their coat grows or mats.

Most dogs benefit from professional grooming every 6–10 weeks to help keep their coat healthy, comfortable and manageable. Regular grooming also helps your dog become familiar with the process, making appointments less stressful over time.

Dogs with longer, curly or high-maintenance coats will usually require more frequent grooming and brushing at home between appointments.

Do you use a cage or crate during the groom?

4

Our grooming trailer is cage and crate free. It will only ever be your dog(s) in the trailer during their appointment.

Do I need to be home for the groom?

5

For your dog’s first appointment, we do ask that someone is home so we can get to know your dog and chat through their grooming needs.

After that, if you are comfortable, we are more than happy to groom while you are out and return your dog afterwards, as long as we have access to your dog and a standard 240v power outlet.

What shampoos and products do you use?

6

We are proud to use both smith&burton and Hydra products. As the owner of a dog who has dealt with lifelong skin sensitivities, choosing gentle, high-quality products has always been incredibly important to me. I only use products I would happily use on my own pets.

We do not offer traditional breed-standard, instead, we focus on practical pet grooming with an emphasis on comfort, low-stress handling and easy coat maintenance.

Do you do breed specific cuts?
